Tis a good job I am no longer in Bristol cos I can post without it all really bothering me.
Its a shame to look at what’s going on, and it looks like certain areas of the alternative scene are gonna be back to where they were 5 years ago being non existent and fucking shite.
I have to look back at my time in Bristol in various stages from 1989 - 2000 the scene was on and off and for a large amount of time I didn’t even get involved, I loved 'The Whip' Pig, Badlands and other such nights but they all suffered from the same fate other clubs have had to in Bristol by loosing the venue or people not going cos they didn’t like the venue or one group of peops not going cos another group of peops went there blah blah blah
I can honestly say that those problems were nothing compared to the EGO's - Prima donna's - Power Hungry - Want to Rule it all's and FUCKING WHINGERS I have witnessed competing for absolute glory over the last 5 years.
I don’t need or want to go into details I tip my hat to those honest enough to have just got in there and got on with it and stick a cold wet finger in the ear of all the tossers.
Thanks for fucking it up for the whingers, moaners and honest to god punters that frequent your venues.
Goodnight Bristol.

For all that, dance was always a mistake. There are clubs that cater for that kind of thing aplenty in Bristol, and the more sussed alternative punters with an appetite for such, go to them. The range between guitar-based material and repetitive beat dance was always too broad. Something had to go, but to my mind they shot the wrong horse far too late. I couldn't give a fuck about the politics, and am far more Catholic in my tastes than many suppose, but I like an environment I don't find actively unpleasant. I think many of the silent feet - beyond the whingers and moaners - voted the same way.

It only takes a little time of ignoring it before you cease to care very much.
